The reader actually feels part of this family's journey (a young couple on sabbatical with their elementary school age son) as they become acquainted with Parisian life and inspired to actually buy a prop|About the Author|The author and her husband are now retired. They divide their time between the USA, France and traveling. The author loves to cook, garden and dabbles in watercolor painting and smocking.

The secret goal was to buy a tiny apartment in Paris. The author, her husband and their 5 year old son spent 6 months over the winter of 1989-1990 in the city of lights. On sabbatical from their university, while conducting research projects, they managed to locate, buy and furnish a tiny pied-a-terre.
